These games are an enhanced adaptation of the original Pokémon story, taking players through the Kanto region once again on a quest to gather all eight badges and challenge the Pokémon League, while also stopping the nefarious Team Rocket's scheme to use Pokémon for profit.
They get their names from Pokémon Red and Green, the classic games which are known in the West as Pokémon Red and Blue. Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are the second Generation III Pokémon games, and the first pair of remakes, starting a trend for the series.
